The Alexander Graham Bell Museum Association (the Association) is a non-profit society that has a cooperating agreement with Parks Canada to operate the Museum Store and Tetra Café at the Museum. This includes a physical store within the Museum and an online store that launched in the Fall of 2018.
The Museum Store supports and continues the mission of the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site (the Museum) by offering a diverse selection of books, jewelry, beautiful gifts, distinctive home décor, children’s art books and toys, and handcrafted items (regional, provincial, national, international) relating to the Museum.
This merchandise gives customers the opportunity to gain a more in-depth knowledge of the Museum’s collections, exhibitions and programming allowing for the continuation of the Museum experience at home – all focused on offering visitors an intimate glimpse into the world of Alexander and Mabel Bell and their time and lives in Baddeck, Nova Scotia.
Proceeds from the Store and Café allow us to support the Museum in their programming and exhibit work. We also organize on the ground volunteer support and engagement.

Parks Canada’s Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site commemorates the genius and compassion of renowned inventor Alexander Graham Bell. Exhibits show how he and his associates achieved Canada’s first powered flight with their airplane Silver Dart, produced the world’s fastest boat, advanced recording technology, designed giant kites and, of course, invented the telephone. Original artefacts, films, and family photographs highlight his scientific and humanitarian work. Visitors can also enjoy hands-on activities and a variety of programs. Situated on 10 hectares of land with a superb view of the Bras d’Or Lake in Baddeck on Cape Breton Island, the Site overlooks Bell’s summer home, Beinn Bhreagh, still privately owned by his descendants.
The Alexander Graham Bell Museum Association, The Alexander Graham Bell Foundation, and Parks Canada are proud collaborators in telling the story of Alexander and Mabel Bell – their legacy, contribution to the world, and the learnings and impact that continue to be relevant to society today.
The Alexander Graham Bell Foundation
The AGB Foundation was established in 2016 as a registered not-for-profit charity under the Income Tax Act of Canada to build and support the capacity of the community of Baddeck, Cape Breton, the province of Nova Scotia, and key partners like the Bell Family Descendants (represented on our Board of Directors) and the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, to tell the story of Alexander Graham Bell and Mabel Bell – their legacy, contribution to the world, and the learnings and impacts that continue to be relevant to society today.
